Route stop scorer
Rank every store on your route by profit per hour, then see what the route earns without the weakest stop.
What it tells you
Habit keeps a store on the route long after it stops paying. This scores each stop on one number, gain per hour: expected net from the keepers, minus what you spent there, divided by the time it took.
Use minutes that include the drive to that stop. A store 25 minutes out has to earn its drive.
How to get honest inputs
- Minutes: leave the driveway timer running. Count the drive to the stop plus time inside.
- Cash spent: the receipt for that stop only.
- Expected net: what the keepers should bring after fees and shipping. Price them from sold comps, not asking prices.
One trip is noise. Score the same route three times before you cut a store for good.
The math
| Output | Formula |
|---|---|
| Gain per hour, one stop | (expected net − cash spent) ÷ (minutes ÷ 60) |
| Whole route | total gain ÷ total hours |
| Route without cut stops | gain of kept stops ÷ hours of kept stops |
A stop is marked Cut when its gain per hour is below your floor.
What it can't see
It doesn't know that a stop restocks Tuesdays or that a slow store sits between two good ones. If cutting a stop doesn't shorten the drive, the time doesn't come back. Building a sourcing route covers the order of stops.
Questions
What is a good profit per hour for a thrift stop?
There isn't one number. Set the floor at what your time is worth to you. Many people use what they'd earn at a side job. The tool only compares each stop against the floor you enter.
Should drive time count toward a stop?
Yes. Count the drive from the previous stop. A store that is good once you're inside can still lose to a closer one once the drive is counted.
Why is the whole-route rate different from the average of the stops?
The route rate weights each stop by its minutes. A long, weak stop pulls the route down more than a short one.

Disclosure Thrift Routes is published by the team behind FlowLister. FlowLister is AI eBay listing software that turns item photos into complete eBay listings. It writes the title, description, category, item specifics, price and shipping for an eBay listing in about 30 seconds, and it prices each item from recent eBay sold comps and shows the sold listings behind the number. It is AI, so it misses things. We built it, so treat this as a disclosure, not a review. The guides and calculator work the same if you never open it.
